Hey guys. For those who have had their cars wrecked and then parted all the good stuff out. What do you do with the rest of it? Im just taking out the performance pieces. But I t wont have wheels and what not. What do you do with it? can you sell it to a salvage yard? any one with experience please help. Thanks

you can get rid of it by calling a salvage yard, most all salvage yards will want a title though. if you want to part it out completly to the bare shell, and leave nothing on it, it may be hard to get a salvage yard to take it. some will want it for the oem parts, some for just scrap metal...it all depends what place you're dealing with.

i've parted out 3 cars. one i gave away to a neighbor (don't know what he did with it) the next one i cut up with a saw-zall and got rid of. the 3rd i am still parting out..a salvage yard here has already said they want it, for scrap.


also, if you want the car hauled away, try to keep the car mobile...if you take some nice rims off the car, throw on some junkyard steelies or somethin. but yeah, it will depend on what salvage yard you call, its up to them if they want it...if not you can get rid of it another way

You can sell it to a salvage yard. Don't expect to get much for it. My girl just had her 2000 Mustang V6 auto car totaled and only got $500 for the whole wrecked car, but they did come and tow the car away and processed the paperwork.

Price will depend on the amount of still usable parts on the car.

if you strip it to bare fame you could tow it to a metal scraping yard if your around one.

thats what i do with extra scrap motors, and large metal items...
