What to do with my EK?
Alright guys, here's the deal. I'm 17, and I am really starting to grow out of my past phases. I am tired of my sound system, and want to go back to just my head unit and stock speakers. I realized tonight by my good friend Dustin, that I am spending B-series money on my D-series platform, no good. If you had $500, XMas coming up, a pretty built D16y8, and some other parts that should sell well, what would you do? I am thinking of maybe finally jumping on the bandwagon and saving for a swap. I do not want to run turbo on this motor, and its seems my NA attempt will never get to where I want it to be with the money I have at my disposal. My last attempt could be a JRSC, but again, Id be spending "B-series" money on my motor that will be on the verge of JUST keeping up with a STOCK B-series. I didnt want to do a swap, but I guess I now see why others are doing it. Thanks in advance guys, help me out!

Re: What to do with my EK? (scratchy)
Well, this would be letting you know, and I could use help. Cashflow is slim right now. Probably $300 a month maybe, Im still in school. I need to find a good platform, but also, I dont want any coincidentals. If I do a swap, I will only have enough money to do the swap, none left for problems that come up. And I am sure that that will be a prob.

Re: (SIcoup)
Sounds like a plan, problem is now that I have poured so much money into my SOHC, that I hardly have any left for a new motor. Anyone know where I can find a cheap swap?

Re: (BMac86)
Also, I dont wanna wait till graduation, because the college Ill be going to is in NY, and I cant have a car my freshman year. So I wouldnt have enough time in between schools to do much with that money. Thanks!

Re: (BI8B)
$5k? lol
I would sell my SOHC and get a DOHC but I cant afford the downtime, this is my daily driver. I could afford literally swapping motors and then selling the SOHC, but it wouldnt be as cost efficient.
Can anyone honestly tell me about Superchargers? I have driven 2 cars with them and they are beautiful. For you FI guys, I understand that turbos are better or w/e, but if I was to go FI, I would do JRSC. Any comments on them?

My D16y8:
AEM ITR cai
GSR TB
Crower Stage 2 cam & valvetrain
AEM Tru Time cam gear
Comptech header
Comptech cat-back
B&M FPR
Walbro 255 fuel pump
VAFC
I think that's it guys, and this week I have a skunk2 IM coming in hopefully. Should I continue all motor or slap on a blower?

Hmmm...you have a decent setup there.
For cheap I would recommend nitrous.
Or for more money you could go with higher comp forged pistons, eagle rods, and nitrous.
Or for even more(or less depending), get a turbo kit.

You're stuck. Enjoy your y8. I'm basically in the same boat as you. I've sunk a lot into my car and I wish I would have just found a Civic Si or Del Sol v-tec to begin with.

Re: What to do with my EK? (Jswpstdoff)
You guys say im stuck, but besides my camshaft, what is holding me back from throwing on a JRSC? I think it could be a perfect time for it IMO. Any ideas?
