Icon5 What do I NEED to turbo?

Ok so I have a 1995 Civic ex coupe 1.6L and I want to eventually turbocharge it. I plan to do a full rebuild on the motor and trans but what I'm wondering is, aside from a mechanically sound drivetrain what do I absolutely have to do when I turbo the car? I am only wanting to make like 5 pounds of boost nothing crazy. So can my stock ecu/tune handle that? If not can the ecu be tuned at a shop to handle that? Also will I NEED larger injectors/fuel pump? Like I said I don't plan on anything crazy and most of the answer forums out there don't have much on mild boost setups. Thanks in advance.

Default Re: What do I NEED to turbo?

You could run a VAF-C and raising rate fuel pressure regulator to avoid having to chip your ecu with hondata, although hondata would give you a much better tune, but for "bare minumum" to run a turbo a VAFC will work fine, I had one on my car for 6 years and it was fine. You will need some new injectors, 310cc will run 5PSI on a small/medium turbo no problem, but if you ever plan on running more boost then go ahead and get bigger ones. I'm not sure about the fuel pump, I have always ran a bigger one but someone else can confirm if it's absolutely necessary or not for 5psi.
