Not sure of axles. What head are you using? And are you going to do FI or NA?

any b series will work...

ls = slow as ****
gsr = fast
b16 = really fast, not good for highway
type r = ****** INSANE

depends on your application... If you do force induction I personally get longer gears such as the LS. But get what is cheaper for you, both LS and GSR are good trannies. B16 just sucks for highway but awesome short gears though ITR => OEM LSD which is better than none

I agree with almost all of this. FI does not mean longer gears. Longer gears will always hurt accelleration, ALWAYS.

The only time I would get anything shorter would be if you made such excessive amounts of power that a shorter gear could not be utalized.

exactly, and most people will only have to go to a gsr, not many are making enough power to use the LS ratios to an advantage.

But i must admit, i would think it would be alot easyer to drive any turbo honda fast with a ls tranny, compared to a shorter counterpart.

Easy to drive does not always equal fast though.

I know I'm getting either a 4.9 fd in my Y7 tranny or a z6 with said 4.9 fd.

EDIT: And I'm shooting for 300 whp this summer.
