What to do with $1000?
Hey guys, i know its OT, but my friends got $1000 to spend on stuff for his car, but knows virtually nothing about it. He drives a 00 Si-BONE STOCK...i was wondering about OEM stuff from an ITR or a CTR to go on his car...maybe ITR suspension stuff or CTR suspension stuff...What would you do with 1000 on a new Si??? Also...Im going to take him out to a place that can do custom piping for an exhaust....he likes the GREDDY EVO...what kind of muffler can i find for him that is similar to that?

Re: What to do with $1000? (KAMiN)
Ive seen header comparisons...and im not impressed in the least by the improvement from a header for the cost....now would his money be better spent with say..a a fuel pump from a ITR or something of that manner instead of a header....or possibly even an OEM header that has better flow that he could get fairly inexpensive?

if your not prepared to open up the b16, your not going to get any real power unless you boost it...so please consider that.

work on suspension.
1000 bucks can get you a long ways with suspension.
For example:
Koni yellows=500
neuspeed Springs=200
ST rear sway bar=175
use the rest to get an alignment
just my.02

Yea...but agian this IS NOT my car....and im not willing to pull everything apart and do all the maintanence on this car that comes with pulling heads off/blueprinting....I will and have done it on my current car, but this kid is not willing/does not have the knowledge to do all of this by himself. He just wants a car that has his own touches to it...not really a racecar, but a mildy modded daily driver

His only other option is to add I/H/E which isn't worth it, in my opinion. If he doesn't want to modify the engine go for tires, springs, brakes, shocks, and sway bars. These will be a better investment.

Re: What to do with $1000? (Ricey McRicerton)
send it to me so I can finish getting my car painted.
Or actually, I would spring for the suspension. He can get a really dope setup for that. Since he doesn't sound like he is into racing or anything, I would go with some Eibach sportlines and Koni yellows, and maybe upgrade the swaybars, or tires. I doubt he needs the best suspension, but would appreciate a good handaling, but yet very comfortable setup. If he wants better handaling the go up to the prokits or some ground controls.
Maybe the best upgrade would be to get those god forsaken michelin stock tires off that car.
