I need to rethread my lower ball joint nut. Helms says its 12x1.25 but i cant find that size die at any stores. Does anybody know what SAE size will work? or can i use 12x1.5?

If you don't have a press, no worries.. when you are ready to remove the BJoint, you can pound/punch them out if you aren't concerned with damaging the old one. Then go spent 30 bucks on a new one and carefully punch it in.
I've done it this way a few times.

</TD></TR></TABLE> I don't understand... Why would you need a press to put on a new castle nut?? In the case you were putting in a new balljoint, then you would. Maybe i'm misreading(but i re-read it a few times..).
thanks.

He might need to thread it because he mushroomed it when the hammered it out to get the knuckle freee.
You can find a Die for it at ACE hardware (they tend to carry unsual sizes) and no SAE will not work
