What did i do!!! clunk,smoke,dead
Last night, i got in passing lane to get around a car gave it full throttle cuz its a Honda and it was uphill, heard and felt some clunking (not to loud but really noticeable) looked in mirror and saw nothing but smoke coming from my car (not sure wat color it was night) then the car shut off and i rolled to the shoulder.
What happened i figured i would get a few educated guesses while i wait for response from dealer.
Just some additional info that may fit into the puzzle, it was raining ealier that night and i may have got water sucked into the CAI, i also have the timing advanced a tad if that might have had an affect on it.
Any opinions or suggestions please respond. Thanks in advance.
1999 Dx automatic 102,079 miles, no motor work just I/E
at the time of the incident i was doing 80mph if thats of any use.

If you hydrol-locked it, then you threw a rod. Could have been bad detonation and you blew out a headgasket. Are there no other clues as to what happened? Dents in the oil pan? Odd oil/coolant leaks? But unless you hit a monster puddle while passing, I don't hink you hyro'd your motor. It may have just tossed a rod for the hell of it. Of course, you could have also broken a timing belt or lost a crank pulley for that matter.
Need to know a little more first.

water is irrelevant here. you were already/still driving. hydrolock = instant motor seizing.
so its not that.
maybe something just gave out. check your oil level?

Re: (Turbo E 604)
List of things blown headgasket (don't know how it can make klunk noise though), probably spun road bearing, or piston slap. You will need to take the car home inspect it, try to crank it with a wrench, then proceed to taking off the valve cover check what's going on. If you don't find nothing then it's something underneath the head.
