what could happen?
my throwout bearing is bad and my tranny is noisy as hell in nuetral, what is the worst that can happen riding with a bad throw out bearing for a while?

You can seize it up and wear out the fingers on the pressure plate.
Best case scenario, nothing bad happens. Worst case, it seizes, something screws up bad and f*cks your whole transmission.

no they aren't expensive parts. if your gonna pay someone to do the work though... i think it's about 6 hours... maybe less, but that's a bundle of cash. do it yourself, and it's awesome. one of my favorite jobs. involved but rewarding.
