I am trying to put a finger on what direction to move in, i am in between the turbo "D" or the N/A "K" BUILD. i will be on a budget, but i am trying to get to that 300bhp mark ,for a budget.........

ya a k20 stock will run like a ****in 13 or less but a d16y8 will run faster cause u can turn up the boost but if u get a y8 and boost it u need to get a good oil pump cause ay8 oil pump..pumps 8 gallons a min. and u need at leat 11gallons so port and shim the oil pump and it will run for at least 6 months to a year..mine ran for 3 years

get the d, aftermarket pistons, rods +turbo will get you to 300hp

The D will be cheaper. The K will be better in every other aspect.

Even a built and turboed B series will be cheaper than an NA K series. You could build like 6 Vitara/ Eagle turbo D's for the price of a K swap

Hit 300 hp N/A on a k20 will take you a while, not to mention a shitload of money

The boosted D will be much cheaper, but I think the K would be better in the long run.

i guess its a unanimous vote,thats kind of what i was hoping to hear. b/c i allready have the d-16y8 its in my ek know. i had a ? for lileghatch though, b/c i didn't know about the low oil pump rate, are there aftermarket oil pumps avil.?

ya there are aftermarket ones like.."toga hv oil pumps" but your best bet is to get on ebay and search oil pump for a y8 and there are ones on there that have already been port and shimmed..thats were i got mine before i boosted the y8....a boosted y8 is every dependable only if you drive easy on a daily basis....if you floor it everywere then your always at maxium boost but if your just driving normal then your sitting at a low psi....so d16boosted are dependable it just depends on how you drive that bitch....pm for anymore question n/ahonda97
