what are the chances of water getting inside of engine?
hey, guys... bad day today... i hit a BIG focking pothole full of water... and yes i broke my front chin spoiler and engine is strugling... i even have the AEM bypass valve <------ WET!!... hope it worked tho...
i couldn't see ANYTHING 'cause it was poring bad and it was pitch black outside... oh, and even the valve cover is wet, too... i thought i'd get some kind of codes since engine still RUNS but didn't get any codes or anything but... the engine is strugling... sounds like miss firing... and no VTEC... but still no codes...
what happens(does it even run?) if moisture or water gets inside of engine?
anyone with similar experience? thanks in advance...

well be glad the engine still runs.. which means u avoided hydrolock which is when the pistons and everything seize if there is enough water in the cylinder to not allow for the engine to make a full stroke.. most likely you may have quite a lot of moisture that needs to come out..hopefully someone here can help you with the diagnose of the problem
to other hters:if I'm wrong on any of this please Make a point to correct me

Re: what are the chances of water getting inside of engine? (IM ALL BOB)
ok....first take off your dist cap....dry it all out with a lint free towel....if you have access to an air compressor...turn the output pressure down...and gently blow out the dist itself. next pull out your plugs....all 4...then crank the motor over a few times to "blow out" anything thats in the cylinders.
the distributor probably got some moisture in it...so thats probably it....good luck,,,im me if you have any other ?'s
