94EG8 and Rice a Roni thanks for the reply guys- huge help. What threw me is that the bkhonda website had different part numbers for the different years. Not sure if there is a range of part numbers that is compatible with certain applications or what. I noted that there are two different axles- GKN and another that's a bit more expensive that are available, but still that's not the reason for the numbers being different. Anyway, thanks again. Nice to have a community to turn to for this kind of stuff. Cheers!

Ooh. That different part number, The EX has ABS, I forgot about that. The LX axle will work fine, but you'll have to swap the tone ring over if you want the ABS to work. If this is just a temp swap as you said I wouldn't worry about it. The tone ring is a press fit and can be carefully tapped off with a hammer and punch.
