I just bought a 97 civic dx and i just want to know what i can do and what i cant to my engine. Another question is what model engine do i have and what bolt ons can i put? I already have litespeed headers, tenzoR intake, Aem cams, aem underside pulleys, what else would be good for this engine and were can i find more help on things i can do with it?

you have a d16y7 and you can do whatever you want to it really. as long as you have money. there was a guy on PH.com that put a supercharger on his and did some other stuff. its all about what you want to do. most people here will tell you to trash it and get a b16,b18, or b20. which isn't a bad idea, but you do have other options.

The single cam will limit you from doing a lot of things to your car. Besides your basic bolt-ons there is not much else that you can do to make it a lot faster than it already is(or isn't). The only other things you could possibly do is to go turbo or sc. I would also think about getting an ex(vtec) head and taking out your old non-vtec one. Otherwise, swap with a more powerful DOHC engine.

i use to have one of those 6g cars too but got rid of it. tire of the SOHC its slow heavy and cant really do much with it. unless do a swap. i got rid of my 96 civic ex and got a 88 hb and then with a swap.
