I got a ls right now, i'm not sure how much i'm putting out, but i just finish this turbo no so long ago and too embrass to go to the track because i might do a bad time. what time you think i can hit with this set up. drag turbo, intercooler, pushing 8 lbs, 3 inch exhaust no CAT, 330 rc injectors, and tuned ecu

This has been covered numerous times.
General consensus is that the gsr tranny is best, because of its mix of longer (gears 1 and 2) and mid-short gearing (3-5).
Longer gears will ALWAYS equate to slower acceleration. (meaning the ls tranny will be slower)
Search up.

Oh, and dont ask "what times will I get" Bench racing/e-racing isnt allowed here because no one will be able to tell you what time you can run....way too many variables (and its just silly)

8lbs? that doesnt mean **** if we dont know what kind of turbo it is.

im going to bet its under 200 hp just from what your saying cuz if you had a high hp motor you would know what your putting out and what kind of turbo and a whole lot more so get an itr or b16 tranny. bigger injectors and if it was tuned wouldnt u know how much your putting down?

why are you using GSR head on a b16, you know that your compression goes up from that (not good for a turbo car). 330cc injectors I would have to be a little bit too small but maybe it will be alright. What do you use to tune it?

I would use a GSR tranny for a low boost application. Get some drag radials, and if you are good driver I could imagine it could pull low 13's, maybe high 12's but that's doughtful.

you have to be kidding right he would bounce off the rev limit so quick he wouldn't be able to get traction which is already bad since he's turbo already that tranny would not work

Why did it take 11 posts for this to be addressed?

The SI head flows better the GSR.

Its arguable that the GSR head actually flows better than the B16 in stock form. Although not my much...

I think it barely outflows it, but it's with the same lift. GSR cams are litle bit more agressive, so it kind of evens it out. But GSR head will bring up the compression on a b16 motor so chance of knock/detonation is increased.

reason i use the gsr head is the i destroy my bottom end while racing and throw in 2nd by accident, so it much cheaper to get a b16 jdm bottom, that is the only reason i use the gsr with b16 bottom. when i purchase my turbo kit, it came with everything, drag turbo, drag manifold, intercooler, tial waste gate, hks bOV,
i got apexi 3inch all the way to the turbo, car pull really hard, i walk the v6 accord at any speed, 2005 accord, i know they are powerful too but hey i walk them alive. hehehhe i'm a newbie to turbo, but so what good at all motor, so help me out, with stuff i dont really understand about turbo. i did had 2000 si tranny with lsd, but freaking tranny shot on me, so my bro give me a ls tranny in the trade for the other tranny. i know it not a good trade but still he is my bro. i like how the ls tranny ride, it hold the boost longer then the Si tranny did. peace out and be back for more!!!

which means acceleration was slower cuz you were in boost longer.

that whole longer geard tranny is better for boost is a myth unless your putting down 500whp and NEED the ls tranny.
shorter gears = quicker acceleration.....its that simple. a longer geared tranny will always be slower

get a gsr tranny and lsd and youll be set
