the d16z6 because the y8 has horrible oil flow characteristics
then the jdm d15b.. the only 1.5L honda motor that I'd boost.

in that case ^^^ your best bet is the zc vtec which is the same as the d16z6 so parts will be available for building but also has the low mileage of the jdm d15b.

Guy here in austin swears by the a6 block/z6 head combo with vitaras and eagles and a mildly built head. He had one in a CRX with almost 300hp+ before he blew it on a shitty tune.

personally i would too but you gotta admit the d15b can be hella confusing when ordering parts. i have one and im still not fully clued in on what parts work on what i just know the vx timing belt works but what tensioners, water pumps etc... and for how long will those custom fjt rods be available?

Most would say the d16z6, and all around as a whole I'd agree, I have one sitting at 430whp so they'll hold it. That's fully built, but it's there. If you could piece one, i'd go with a d16a6 shortblock with a z6 head and shimmed oil pump. The a6 girdle is the strogest as it's steel. They're all cheap enough to fix if you wreck one, that's the good thing.
