Default what is the best b-series motor?

whats the best b-series motor? the ls/vtec...gsr.type r? b16...........or a build of all of them then which is the best block? i know b16 rods are the best but do they fit the other b-series motors? best head? best bottom end? i know the type r has the best crank girdle but not much more than that...im done building my d-series so im now getting into b-series.........with my previous motor i got 50% best stock parts and 50% best after market parts and i wanna keep as oem as i can with this b-series with exeptio of cam gears...head studs etc

it all depends on what you want to do and what your goals are. turbo or N/A, drag or road race, fully built or bolt-ons.......help us help you......what car is this going into, whats your budget, are you doing the work.......again help us help you

The GSR motor is great for turbo, but I really like the b18c5. great power, vtec is insane. but i am sure everyone will have their opinions.

n/a its either going into a crx or a civic coupe...drag race...i guess im looking for low-end torque also RELIABLITY is a key issue

they all have their pros and cons... some are better at some things than others are and so on... just figure out what your goals for the car are first then decide which one suits you best... searching is your friend

ya with this thread im asking which parts will perform the best in which block etc....like with the gsr will the rods from a b16 fit? (im guessing no right?)

the answer would be no... your question is too broad though... you really need to search... you will find out alot more doing that than you will get knowledgable responses here

I'll take D16 VTECs over a B16 every time. The only B-series motors I'd buy (within a normal budget) are the B18B and B18C1. I'd get a D16Z6 with ARP head studs for a CRX and turbocharge it to 8psi. Tune with Hondata or Uberdata/Crome and you have a little street terror that runs consistant high 13's.

what kind of question is this???

do a poor mans type-r for N/A or a stock gsr and boost it. on my stock gsr i dynoed 395whp at 12psi with a t3/t67 H.O.

do what ever you think you want to do...not what others tell you...lol!

going n/a and going with bseries.. my vote is jdm b18c.. or doing ls/vtec if its a budget build, .. just do what you want
