Can someone identify this tranny for me?
I was told it was a Hydro B16 but i was looking @ mine and the small tubing below is a little thiner as you can compare from both pics below.

and here's the unknown b-series tranny, tubing is a little wider.



Besides that, everything looks the same. Here are some more pics..

we need some letters and numbers bro. looking at a chunk of aluminum is hard to ID w/o a code. what is the code on the sticker? OR clean it up and look at the stamp on the tranny case that is come w/ from the factory. those pics are helping with nothing.

thats the thing, theres no sticker or vin. i'll check the stamp on the tranny as soon as i get home.

oh alright, i just glanced and saw it... now i see its the starter. why is the barcode sticker removed? are there vin tags on it?
that "unknown tube" is just a breater valve.

I dont have any details on the tranny since i picked it up from a friend who was cleaning his garage and he was told it was a B16 tranny.

It looks identical to my b16 tranny, but then again so does every other b series tranny out there. we need codes. period

True. what year is yours btw?

I have the S4C tranny out of the 99-00 si. I added a qualife LSD from a ITR to it though. ITR tranny w/ a longer final drive for the freeway for less cash.

its a hydro trany. there is no bracket on the tranny to hold the cable. plus if you look at the shaft release, it's a push type(hydro). cable's are pull type

yeah thats what i have in my car @ the moment. the breather valve is a little thicker and smaller thats why im confused.

Thats a hydraulic transmission.

you can see where the shift linkage hooks up, as to what B series hydraulic transmission it is. Well you are going to have to open it up and count the final drive gear and/or 3rd and 4th gear.

that's not what makes it a hydro or cable tranny. it's how the shift release it designed.

alright so i jus ginished picking up a 99-00 civic si casing and the tranny i have is identical to the casing..

they both have YSK-2 stamped on the top. thanks to all who replied.

Good stuff, But to be 100% sure, I would do a quick tooth count. ( as that can be the genereic obd2 transmission casing, meaning 99-00-01 integras could of used that casing ). But then again. You already own it and it will fit, so i guess install it and enjoy.

Thanks dude. Im gunna install this one for now and build me a backup one since i cracked the casing on my other b16 tranny. LSD and brand new casing on the way.
