a hybrid is a car with an engine that did not come in said car.
meaning a b series motor in a civic (other than SI)
etc etc etc.
there are many levels and engines.

a hybrid is a car with a motor/transmission ect from another car. Like a civic for instance with a integra gsr motor. And whats makes them so bad is that they are fast and its takes money to turn your car into a hybrid

hy·brid- the offspring produced by breeding plants or animals of different varieties, species, or races.
Now to relate this to honda's or cars in general would be simple. Take the guts (motor, tranny, ecu, blah blah blah) from one car, and put it into another. As far as them being bad i really dont agree. Cost may be an issue for some, but hey...its an expensive hobby!
