Damn I hope they bring the Lancer Evolution VII to the US, that will be one hell of a car! Honda fan though I am, I would sell my civic with no regrets to get an Evolution VII...

There is one of those lancers outside my work right now, it is the yellow rally one. It looks nothing like that yellow one that is pictured above. Interior/Wheels way diffferent. Looks like it has potential though.

What is outside your work right now is a regular Mitsubishi Lancer. It is a FAR CRY from the Evo VII. The plain Lancer has about as much power as my stock Civic EX. The Evo VII is turbocharged and puts out roughly 276 hp and 282 lb-ft of torque through a fully computer-controlled AWD system. It's all in that PDF file I linked to. If this thing makes it to our shores (and there's a very good chance it will), my civic is history.

the company that makes it is called TALON
the car is a mitsubishi lancer coupe
they come out with a 1.8l single cam engine
And there are bloody heaps of them here, everyone does them up

PS we get the evo here in oz it goes for 75,000 for the Makinnnen version and its a weapon!

The Lancer here in the states suck ***. I watched them test it on Motorweek and it had an 0-60 time of 10 sec and a 1/4 mi of 18.8. Laughable. I think it will be a long time before we get anything close to the EVO

Yes, the plain old Lancer is downright pathetic.
The Evo VII on the other hand.... Stock it will run about a 12.5 or 12.6. And that is with the stock turbo, which is easily upgraded.
Oh, did I talk about the Evo VII's intercooler? In addition to being air-cooled like others, there is a switch inside the car that lets you spray WATER on the intercooler!!! This causes an incredible drop in temperature, thanks to the evaporation. It can be set either to Auto-Spray (it monitors the intake temps and sprays accordingly) or manual spray, where you just hit a button and it sprays the water. Pretty cool huh?

the EVOVII is supposed to be released here but mitsu hasnt offically given a date yet, i heard it could be as early as next model year.
its supposed to retail between 25-35,000$
to compete with the WRX.
