Default What is this?

Hey all I was poking around my bay today and saw this hose just hanging there... I just bought the car like a week ago as a daily. I will do small mods here and there

At idle it sits at like 800ish but also at like 1200 sometimes I suspected a leak and after seeing this I'm assuming this is the problem. I also have a MAF code so I mainly just need to know where to plug that hose in...

That hose that goes from your valve cover to your intake is supposed to have a 90 degree bend in it and slip onto that hard pipe. The hard pipe has a rubber hose on the other end that attaches to the original airbox.

I don't know why they just didn't delete the pipe....

Oh, and as Caoboy has stated above, that hard pipe can be deleted. The hose currently connected to the valve cover and terminating at the aftermarket air intake tube is essentially replacing the original hose that you have circled in the picture... so it is not necessary to connect the hose that you have asked about because there is another hose doing the job instead.

Ah I see that makes sense. Okay I'll be taking that off then. Thx. The previous owner kinda trashed it a bit... But I love hatches and need a daily sooooo I'll restore it...

Ah my bad. I hate to not give enough info but I didn't have a lot of time to look at it yesterday and kind of just glanced at the code. I'll look again tonight or tomorrow .

I know for sure that the code said it was getting a higher air reading than it should be having.

And yes it said MAP
