Default What is this?

The engine is a D15B Vtec
the car is a 93 SI

i found this today and im wondering what it is, it was by the intake manifold:




and another question, can my IAT be replaced from any D series IAT?

Purge control solenoid. Has a little part it screws onto on the back of the IM then the vacuum line plugs in a bit below that. Any d series iat should work I think.

Correct, do a search on here for "purge solenoid" to get some useful info on it, like where it goes and what it does, etc.....
any d series IAT will work, hell, i think most of the b ones would work also, but i may be wrong on that one

JDM motors do not have these. So toss it and cap off your vacuum lines.

cool thanks

another question

my ecu is throwing a code, and im having a hard time getting it fixed,

i tried to make it throw another code by unhooking the map sensor, and it nothing, didnt throw another code.

what could be the problem?
