Went to the track for the first time
I have a 4dr 96 civic(mods=stock dx motor w/header,2.25 exaughst, aem cai, skunk2 coil overs, falcon tire on Si stocks)I baught all parts used of of my friend who did a swap, except the wheels/tires. I went to speed world in phx,az and ran my car for the first time on saturday. oh yeah the clutch is not at its best. the first run i got 17.87. Next run i took of my intake and ran it like that. I ran a 17.4. then 17.25 My best run was a 17.1. not bad for a dx i guess. i did not strip the car just emptied the trunk.
What can i do to run mid 16's or anything under 17?
Eventually i will get a swap
Any advise will help

you should get a swap, either a d16y6 or b-series. starting with that engine and spending some of that money on it, you should be in the 16-15s or even better. good luck!!

try pulling some of the interior out. i don't remeber if you said it was manual or auto, but launching higher is always a good thing...
also pull the power steering for a little jump at the strip and lower tire pressure.
