Went over speed bump, now code 20 and 41... ?
I was driving to boston market and went over one of their new speedbumps. Comming off the speedbump my dowpipe came down and bumped it, but not too hard. Immediately after, my check engine light came on. I checked the codes and i have a 20 and 41, a "electronic load detector," and, "primary oxygen sensor." I'm running my 00 Si OBDI w/hondata, and its a P28 ECU. everything was fine before this happened. My volts are also below where they used to be, at about 11.0V. Its a 2 month old altenator too. My speedometer doesn't work now too? Is the speedo from the load detector? And my idle bounces up and down around 1000rpms which is new now too. I don't know what the hell happened. Screw boston market. Anybody got any ideas why all this stuff happened at the same time? Oh yeah, even my filter from the greddy kit fell off too....? Random things man, random. Thanks for any help.

Did you check any of the sensors to make sure nothing was loose. I would definitely be checking the VSS and O2 sensor. Didn't state the speed you hit the bump at, but if the filter knocked loose, I'm led to believe a little fast, fast enough to knock a few things around under the hood. I'd just unplug replug some of the wiring, reset the ECU and await any codes.

It sounds like something may have caused a short when you hit the bump. Check the primary O2 sensor wiring.

worst case you damaged the o2, probably getting code for load det. because the o2 is f'd up. pull the o2 and see what it looks like after you've checked the wires. prolly bad o2

okay guys, sounds like the consensus is the o2 sensor. I was probably going 1/2 mph on the bump, but my car just dropped right down onto it and banged against the downpipe. It really wasn't even that hard, the car has dropped down alot harder on other speedbumps. Maybe it was the final straw for the o2. The car is over 5 years old. But i have no clue what the hell the electronic load dectector is. I hope its just my speedometer, which stopped working. And it seems like my altenator isn't charging anymore cause my volts are hanging around 11.0V. But i'll check it out. Thanks so much for all you help.

oh yeah, one more intersting thing i thought i'd add was that my full-throttle shifting feature on my hondata was messed up. It was set for 6K but then it was going off at 4K, which is what i had it set for my launch control, not the full-throttle shifting. So i just unplugged that on the hondata. Kinda random, but i thought i'd add it.
