Ok heres the short story. I have been needing a tranny for a while and have just been refillign the fluids in my tranny cause it leaks. No im driving down the road bout 2 miles to my house come to a stop light and when I take off, I hear a Loud CLUNKING NOISE. So, I was like Great, Flat tire. It hought it was a flat cause the faster I went the louder the clunk was... Now I pull over once I my road and all tires are kosher... So the next thing that went into my mind was that the CV joints are fucked ( they are only maybe like 6 months old ) So I pullin my drive way, Get the wheels off and the car up in the air and the CV boots look fine... What are some symtons of a Blown tranny? The car goes in all the gears, And rev. even when it moves slowly there is a faint clunking sound... PLEASE HELP!!! BTW if anyone has a 92 + hydralic D deries tranny in FL for a good price I want it!

Possibly you have your diff bearings going out.

Some symptoms would be blown axle seals, causing a leak, due to the diff moving around in your case. Also would make a lot of noise, once it got bad enough...

They like to throw metal shavings, so you might be looking for a new tranny soon...

im not sure what a tranny does when it blows but thats the same thing that happened when i blew my engine

i have had trannys go on me before one time it didn't do anthing no noise or nothing! i shifted from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and then i go to put it in 4th and ther is nothing 5th nothing 2nd nothing and 1st nothing so back into 3rd it went and i drove home in 3rd from school (about 10 miles) on back roads with stop signs that was very very fun.

The boot may not be torn but are the CV joints good? like have you been being bad doing burnouts and snatching gears and whatnot? also is ur tranny fluid filled to spec?
