Well i was driving home today.
well i was driving home today. and i was shifting out for 4th well was until i heard a pop like noise it throw it out of gear and would not go back into gear. so i pulled off the road, and turned the car off, put it back into 1st gear, i started going agian the start off was really rough, i pressed the clutch pedal down and i heard a bunch of grinding and what not it went into second making a really hard jerk. my question is what did i break?

pretty old. it does need to be replaced. im just trying to pinpoint the problem. i was just out there looking at it and the transmission also seems to be leaking.

hard to say, could may be something with your clutch, but most likely a shift fork or even some bearing let loose, was it making any noises before. i broke teeth off a diff before. you are just gonna have to pull the tranny to know

you can just get some forks to replace them, granted you didnt kill anything else. let me know if thats what it ends up being, i have some laying around

you could of broke a fin off the pressure plate and what you hear is the piece mashing between the disk and the flywheel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
which would result in replacing everything you normal would replace when a clutch goes along with a new flywheel

sounds really familier to when i broke a spring in my clutch. of course like everyone has said you gotta remove the trans and have a look to know for sure.

I'm gonna need it. one of the shafts on the inside of the tranny broke loose from the mounts at teh end of the shaft. it destroyed most of the gears. Along with destroying the mount it self.
