weld from stock header?
i asked in the welding/fabrication forum but that thing moves to slow and it seems like this quesion is too basic.
will a good exhaust shop have any problem with welding from my stock header/downpipe to my flange-less cat/the cat back im having them make?
im just asking because the stock downpipe looks like thick iron, and i dont have a clue what you can/cannot weld together.
i also don't know if most flanges are generally the same and if a shop would have one to weld onto my cat, or if they can do it by just welding direct?
i didn't order a model specific cat with flanges, i just picked up a used clean cut cat from someone.
i would like to know if this will work before i go pick up a cheap stock header. ?
and to the moron who will ask why i don't call the shop, its a weekend, and even if they did answer the phone it would be difficult as english is their recent 2nd language.

Re: weld from stock header? (BIGBLOCKEK)
I don't see why they would have a problem. It is an exhaust shop that welds on a daily basis. if they say they can't weld it you could probably make them a template of a flange and have them cut one out.
Just trace around one of your flanges and then they could trace it onto metal and cut it out. Then they could weld that onto the cat.
