Weird vibration?

As luck would have it, as i get serious about selling my car, somethin weird happens, in my case a weird vibration.

First, my car ... 2000 Si with 90k miles on it.

The vibration started a month or so ago, and would really only be done while braking at around 80 mph and would be felt and seen through the steering wheel (not the brake pedal). It has fluctuated to 70mph and is lightly felt while not accelerating, but again is strongly felt while braking. Recently, it is starting to do this more closely to 60mph.

So basically, i feel a strong vibration in my steering wheel when i break at upper 60mph-80mph .. it is felt and can be seen. It is also noticed while not breaking and not accelerating, but not as severe. I do not feel any pulsating through the pedals, just the steering wheel.

What do you suggest? thanks

excessive vibration during braking is normally cause due to rotor runout.

Vibrations at cruising speed is resulted by out of balanced wheel and tires, worn suspenson parts.( excessive play in the tie rods or ball joints) https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: Weird vibration? (Slamaccord)

my guess would be warped rotors.

may wanna get in there and check suspension components as well, but if it happens only during braking, then most likely warped rotors.

could be a combination of a few different little things like bad rotors, wheel balancing issue..
