Default weird thing happening...

OK... so I'm driving around after my college class is done and go to get on it hit about 6500 RPM's and the rev limiter kicked in.. The car is a 2000 SI b16a2 and haven't had this problem ever with the car. I have a VAFC and have had that in for a week or so... The only thing I have changed on that is the vtec was set down to 5100 from 5450. Oil was just changed last week so anyone have any clue what's going on with it. I hit 6500 and the rev limiter won't let it go past that and the check engine light turned on and won't go back off. Any help is appreciated..

Check the code, and let us know what it is. There is a sticky thread on ECU checking at the top of the page.

It is the stock b16 ecu nothing has been changed on it and this just happened a few hours ago... The only thing was last week the VAFC went in. I don't know if it is a tuning issue with that or what it is but the only thing changed was the vtec was set down to 5100 since last week.. had no problems until today.

OK... I'm not real familiar with the code... How would I get that for you? Sorry for the lack of intelligence about it but I'm new to the Honda scene and haven't had the time to learn about everything yet...

Was the car even warmed up to normal temp yet before you started wailing on it? Some cars don't let you redline them before they warm up. I'm not implying anything, just asking a question. I've heard that VTEC won't work until the temp is good in order to prevent engine damage but I've never tried with mine. Mine is chipped anyway, so I don't figure it's worth any potential engine damage just to find out. Good luch with the diagnosis.

sorry about that.. I didn't see the ECU thread... and yeah my car was warm I was at around 70% throttle and wasn't wailing on it really just having some fun... Not that it makes a difference though.. Will check the codes and see what happens. Thanks in advance..

OK... I think I did this right because there was one long light so apperantly that is a code 10 if I'm not mistaken... Only one blink and it was a couple seconds from when I turned the key to on... It said it was the intake air temperature sensor... Any help from here is greatly appreciated...
