Default weird sound

whenever i start my car in the morning, i hear this squeeling sound. its not very loud, but its there. it only does it when the car is idling higher due to cold weather. when i step on my clutch, the squeeling sound goes away. right when i let off the clutch, it comes back. what could it be?

My belts well, belt squeels at a certain spot in when i'm throttling, it's a tad too tight. Ricer thought it was turbo.

Honestly, i really dont know. But i have people come by my work (gas station) and ask whats that squeeling sound? the answer is always a belt problem.

It is probably your throwout bearing starting to go bad. Only fix is to replace it when it gets really bad. That would be my guess since it goes away when you depress the clutch.

When my throwout bearing was shot I got more of a grinding noise. I am no mechanic but physically speaking if you depress the clutch then your transmission isn't moving at all. No gears nothing so when that happens you are freeing up alittle of the tension the motor is causing on the belts so maybe that is why it does not squeel when the clutch is pressed ? Just my stupid wild *** guess.

I remember on my D16Y8 when the input shaft bearing would whine, but only when moving at low speeds I could hear it, but I doubt that since you said it goes away. Check the accessory belts and get back.

On my 2000 EX, I have a squeeling as well. I replaced all the belts, but they needed it; and adjusted them a few months after. It still squeels on cold start up once and a while. I tracked the problem to one of the acc. pulley bearings, I think the A/C, but it's hard to replicate, so I'm not quite sure which one.
