Default Weird question... but b16 intake on d16?

Just a random question I've been wondering for a few months now...

But can an AEM b16a2 short ram intake work on a 99-00 d16y8? Don't ask why because I don't even know lol. I've always wondered that though. I know one difference is the EX ( d16y8 ) intake diameter is 2.5" and the SI ( b16a2 ) is 2.75", but can it work?

Will work fine, you'll just need to clamp the coupler on the TB a little tighter.

That's what I figured. Since there are 3 holes on the intake arm on the y8, and 3 on the b16a2, I figured it should work no problem.

I was asking because it appears my 2.75" short ram generic intake off eBay makes a louder throaty sound than my buddy's 2.5" aem intake. I see more used SRI's for b-series than d-series being sold so I figure if I can ****** a used AEM b16a2 intake, I'd go for it. Just wanted to make sure it works.

Thanks .
