Is it an auto? If it is it could be something with overdrive.

I don't deal with too many AUTO Hondas but on the GM cars I have seen with this problem it was the torque converter lock-ip solenoid. Try driving it around for a while without exceeding the 40-45mph mark. If you can drive around all day as long as you don't hit where OD would be and if the problem doesn't occur then you know that's the issue.

Carry a spark plug socket and rachet with you. Next time it happens check to make sure your getting spark, if so then you know its a fuel related problem.

Did you re-create the problem? When you re-create the issue, do as someone said and check for spark. If there is spark my best guess would be that torq. conv. solenoid if there are no CEL..

Check your main relay. When it was hot outside or in the car it wouldn't start. I, like many others, found out that the main relay on EG's are prone to failing over time. (It controls your fuel system.) It is about a 2"x3" grey box mounted behind your hood release tucked under the dash. There is one 10mm bolt holding the bracket. The grey exterior is a case that can be removed. Do this and you will see the circuit board with approximately 15 solder joints. Check them all carefully to see if any of the joints have split. Split joints are sometimes hard to spot, but you should see a bumpy line all the way around (instead of it being smooth). If you see any, re-solder them with a small soldering iron. I did this to my car last week and the problems have stopped completely!
.
Edit: I left the relay plugged in to save the hassle of removing it. For safety I removed the negative battery cable.
