Weird Problem: B18C1 in 92 DX Bubble
Ok so I started up my swap and it threw like 4 or 5 codes which I didnt bother to check because I haven't chipped the P28 yet. So yesterday I used the chipped P28 and it starts up smooth but feels like it wants to just die (no CELs btw). I pressed on the gas and all of a sudden the car shuts off. I happened like 2-3 times. I dont know what it could be. Any help? Oh yea and another issue im having is that I have 2 map sensors plugged in. When I disconnect either one of them I get a CEL but if they're both plugged in no CEL comes on. Also, alot of black smoke comes on when I use the chipped p28. Any thoughts? Can it be the computer?

What bin do you have on the ecu?
Also, two maps is wrong, do you have both of them wired into the same place on the ecu? Mehbe you have a plug for something else plugged into the map and you're ******* it up. Jump the code it throws when you only use one map and tell us what it is.

black smoke = running rich.
ur air/fuel ratio is messed up. i would definately come to a conclusion that it has to do something involving your MAPs. or try switching an ECU with a buddy. plugs in and out no problem right?

yea i think it has something to do with the MAP sensors. One is on the throttle body (OBD2 GSR) and the other one is on the firewall right next to the fuel filter (OBD1). Which one should I disconnect? I'll take pics tomorrow if I can remember to. BTW as of right now Im running a chipped p28. Its my friends

I'm having the exact same problem with the exact same setup. At first I thought it was a burnt or dead O2 but I guess that's not the case. I guess it would have something to do with the 2 MAPs possibly. Keep us updated because I would like to figure mine out too.
*EDIT* I just pulled the MAP sensor on the firewalll by the fuel filter and got codes 3(MAP sensor), 14(IAC), and 43(Fuel Supply System). When the sensor is plugged there are no codes thrown. Who knows what is going on. I'll be glad when I get the turbo setup finished I can just get it tuned.

on a dx you will need to use the plug from the map sensor on the firewall for the map sensor on the t/b and then it should work fine.. just leave the other one unpluged. also make sure you don't have the tps and map sensor conectors switched as there the same

Re: (b20vtechb)
After hours of confusion, my problems have been solved. Thank you b20vtechb. Pulled the plug on the firewall and put it on the TB and runs perfect. I had to tweak the idle a little but car is running excellent. Hope this solves your problem too drshottest718.
