in order to really get to my stock proportion valve to change it for a 40/40, i tried unbolting the iacv and that didn't work so i had to take my intake manifold off...i also had to take it off in order to swap out the brake booster...well after getting all the brakes on a bled i went to put the intake manifold back on...changed the gasket out and everything...i plugged all the stuff back up that i unplugged in order to lift the manifold up high enough to take the old gasket off and put the throttle cable back on...so after all this i go to start the car and i drive it up the driveway to take it around the block and make sure everything is fine...i noticed a weird rattling sound when i hold the clutch pedal down like when i am sitting at a dead stop...so i go to back the car up because i notice it is idling funny...all of a sudden the motor started to smoke from the engine bay and i noticed it from the muffler too....so once i get it in the garage i go to check everything and the car is sitting at 3k rpms...so i push the throttle cable bracket over to try and shut the throttle body all the way and it drops to 1500rpms and then it started to constantly rev from 1500 to 2k rpms...what could be wrong with it? i checked all the plugs and they were all plugged up

i sprayed carb cleaner around the intake manifold and didn't have a leak in the gasket so i disconnected and reconnected all the plugs on the intake manifold...made sure all the coolant lines were hooked up, retorqued the intake manifold bolts, rebled the coolant system, used carb cleaner and cleaned my throttle body, redid my throttle cable and reset the ecu and bam...runs like a charm...
