Weird overheat problem..headgasket? help.
This has got me going crazy the past week. Driving my car at normal speeds on the highways or locally, it won't overheat. During WOT once in a while it will overheart quick for about a minute then just drop back to normal. While its "hot", the car still feels the same..no loose of power. It does smoke purple/blue inbetween shifts because it needs rings soon, will that cause this? I burp the system for about and hour, after a beat run BOTH hoses are hard. Top is hot bottom is warm. I also been noticing my resorver has more coolant in it.
ls/vtec
new rad.
slim fan, always on
on my third thermostat
new hoses.
Please help me out...

my ex was doing sort of the same. would not overheat but would go bout 3/4 the way up. started doing more freq so finally just pulled head and found an 1/8 in pocket like gap worn in one of the layers. replaced it n no more temp probs. not the greatest news but hope it helps
