Default Weird O2 sensor problem

Hey everyone, long time no see. First time back on the forums in a while. I hope i'm welcome back.

I have a weird issue which I'm having trouble with sorting out on my own. This is on my obd2 2000 civic dx. It's got a ex header/cat setup.

Last Saturday I went to play paint ball with some buddies, and we had to drive over some rough farmland. Low and behold I snagged my o2 sensor wiring on a root or something. Here's what my setup looks like

O2 sensor > wiring > plug/pins > wiring > ecu.

Luckily, the wire didn't break, the pins in the plug just came out. So Plugged all the pins back in in the proper order and I'm still getting a CEL. I'm getting a code for Both o2 sensors and air fuel metering. And the strangest part is my battery doesn't stay charged at all. I got a new battery yesterday thinking my old battery was just old, and in 24-hours something has drained my new battery dry.

Any thoughts?

Did you check the alternator fuse? Its number 15 in the under dash fuse box. Whe nthe wires pulled out, they mostlikely shorted out to ground and blew the fuse.

If not the fuse, reset your ecu by removing the proper fuse in the fuse box.

yeah its your fuse i hit a rock or sumthin and it broke my wire on my secondary o2 but i never knew for about 3 weeks. After i hit the rock my battery light came on and my car was running off just my battery and it basically just didnt recognise my alternator so i replaced the alternator and it still was broke so i was stumpped and i checked the fuse and it was blown so i was like oh ill just replace it and be good but nope kept blowing the fuses and then after about 3 weeks of checking my wiring harness for a short i called my tuner and he had a wiring diagram and hes like for ***** and giggles check your o2 wire cause its exposed... jacked the car up and wow broken wire, disconnected the plug to it b/c im obd1 now so i dont need my secondary anyway and put a new fuse in and wah lah ruan like new... lol sorry for the long story but i was pissed when i found that out and figured ide let you know.

Seems to make sense that you blew the alternator fuse when the wires got yanked out. Here's to hoping for a quick and easy fix for you.

A fuse is blown, not 100% positive it's the alternators fuse as I don't have a replacement or a diagram to go off of. I'll replace it and we'll see what happens.

Problem resolved. Replaced the fuse and the CEL is gone and the car is running.

Let's just hope the battery keeps it's charge

Damn, it's good to be back on the forums again.
