Default weird noise in my 2000 si

just recently i have noticed a noise in my 2000 civic si. I have searched but nothing really sounds like what is happening to mine. at a stop after engaging 1st gear, i will let off the clutch and start on the gas and 1 popping noise comes from the front of my car. this has been happening for about 4 days.

today, this noise happened even more but now it is happening when i switch to 2nd and 3rd gear and also when i let off the gas in a low gear. im thinking it is something to do with the clutch, but i am not sure. i bought the car preowned from honda and purchased the 100k warranty and i have an appointment to go in, but i was just trying to see if this has happened to anybody else in here and get an idea of what it could possibly be.

2 things:

Have you done anything with the strut bar lately? One time I put it on backwards and when I would accelrate the TPS would hit the strut bar and cause a popping sound.

The other is it could be your axles.

nope i have not done anything with my strut bar. i was also thinking it could be my axles but its not clicking numerous times, just one at a time. plus its not clicking when i make turns, only when i start into a low gear or get off of the gas in a low gear.

Oh my, the exact same thing is happening with my hatch (92). When I take off in first and give it a decent amount of gas there is a clunking or popping type noise that sounds like its coming from the passenger side front of the car. I would also like to get some suggestions on what to look for! thanks

Its more than likley your lower front tranny mounts. They tend to wear out where they bolt to the bottom of the framerail. Check those out and let us know.

yeah man I have an EBP 00 Si also. I started getting those sounds from the front of my car like two weeks ago.I have come to the conclustion that it is my strutsfinally going out. Sit in your car with it turned off and try to shake back and forward.Generally you will here those same clicking sounds. Did you have coilovers on your car cause thats what did it to mine.

check the upper control balljoint. take top of the tire with both hands and pull like your yanking on it. if you hear a popping sound then it's a bad ball joint

ive got the same noise in my em1..i know its not my sway bar links just replaced them..i no its not my control arm bushings i replaced them..i no its not my shocks and spring set up because i replaced them..so my conclusion is either axles (i have a ripped boot) or balljoints or tierods, but it doesnt bother me that much so i will live with it
