so ne ways i have had this weird noise comming from the rear of the vehical, drivers side for a while not and i have ignored it. so i started wondering what it was after i got tired of listening to it. 1st i thought it was the wheel bearing, but it isn't. the one on the passenger side rear is the one singing to me! its a loud hum sounds like this, waaawwoooowaaoooowwaaoooo around 40-70 mph!! its quite annoying, so i have to crank the toons. i wonder if you can pump grease in them? i think it is the tire making the noise on the driver side rear, almost like something is stuck in it, like a tire plug or like its poorly misaligned geting ate up by the pavement. nothing is in the tire at all. so this is weird. i know the front needs done caz my dad hit a curb when he wasn't watching the road and let go of the wheel. the tires look good not wearing out, kind of lightly dryrotted from sitting. what are your thoughts?

The first thing to replace is the bad rear wheel bearing.

thats a simple r&r right? you take the hub off and put a new one on w. the new bearing?

It's a simple process if you have the tools. Not easy job with no hub extractor.

I think you are referring to the front wheel hub. For the rear hub unit, I believe that, after removal of the spindle nut, the hub unit just slides on and off. No special tool is required.

I replaced the rear hub not long ago. And its not easy process on/off since you have to force the old bearing to come out.
Anyways the OPs question is answered.

i will go to autozone to pick up one this week mabey. if i don't fix it will just sing louder right?

did you check to see if the tire was warped? especially if it's been sitting for a while. i had the same problem. i drove from florida to cali in my spec v with a warped tire and it was annoying.

Sometimes it can be tough to get off the spindle, but it's usually not. The average DIY'er should not intimidated. Most of the time removing the drum is tougher than removing the bearing/hub.

mabey it is warped@! will it hurt driving it? its got 90% tread left.
