Weird Clutch Problem
iight so im driving on the freeway in the morning and I shift into 5th gear when I notice something weird...my clutch pedal felt REALLY REALLY loose, it felt like it wasnt connected to the tranny anymore but I was still able to shift, when I step on the pedal about 90% of the way it was loose but the last lil bit of space to press the pedal worked and I could shift. it felt like the clutch was stuck onto the tranny or something like that but I could shift and the clutch didnt burn or anything it was weird. it went back to normal after i got out of school, but later on at night it started to feel loose again..I need some help PLEASE, tnx.

You may have a leak in the master or slave cylinder, you may have air in there. I'd do a gravity bleed first, open the bleeder on the slave cylinder and add fresh brake fluid into the master cyl resivoir, bleed until clear/no air bubbles.
Master cylinder isn't too much, about $35 wholesale, and the slave is abotu $16 wholesale.

I second that. Try that first.

iight cool i'll check the cylinders first...but where exactly are they located, I would think in the engine bay but where exactly in the bay and what does it look like and if I do need to change the cylinders where do they sell them for $36 for master cylinder and $16 for a slave cylinder? If i dont change them or fix the problem what would happen...cuz I'm kinda low on cash right now =/

iight I finally took a look under the dash where the clutch pedal is and I noticed that there was some grease from this pump looking thing(which I think is probably normal) but then I saw that it looked like something had leaked because there was a dry trail of something wet that had leaked down the wall and under the carpet from that pump looking thing
I also looked in the engine bay for the master clutch cylinder but couldnt determine where the slave cylinder was. If the master clutch cylinder is exactly next to the brake booster & master brake cylinder then it looked fine
nothing was leaking or loose there.
by the way, is the clutch pedal connected directly to the master clutch cylinder with that pump looking thing???

If you have a trail of fluid from your master cylinder going down your firewall i would say to replace that first because most likely the seal went out on it. Im having the same problem, the only thing is if you change your master cylinder you are going to have to change the slave pretty soon because of the added pressure from the master working properly. i am going to change my master cylinder on monday it should be fairly easy.

thats where you can get it cheap. Sanyco supplies/manufactures major hydraulic stuff to a lot of oem companies (they make castings for Stoptech's brake calipers), there stuff is new and not reman, i use it no probs.
