Ways to remove speed limiter...
I have a 2001 civic LX, 115HP U.S. specs which I drive every day on the German Autobahns. The speed limiter cuts off my engine at 110 MPH. This is often dangerous when passing or being passed. What are the ways to deactivate or remove the speed limiter?

Kick it? o.O
No offense to the thread start but from what i heard of that Autobahn i dont think that LX should go on it, way to dangerous. Now if it was swapped or built or something then thats a different story. Doesnt the big rigs go past 120 on that thing easy?
Anyway best way to get it chipped professionally. Since your in Germany i wouldnt have a clue where to start unless if you want to buy it from US.

Re: Ways to remove speed limiter... (Sergio61)
The Autobahns are "disciplined madness." German driving is quite predictable. I drive 72 miles round-trip to work every day. Going, I cruise between 100-110 mph; coming home by a different route, between 75-80. This LX has a lot of get-up-and-go and handles well on Goodyear Vectra 5 H-series tires. It's not too dangerous for the Autobahn. I just need to be able to get up to 115 to pass safely under all conditions, like my previous car, a 93 Civic DX could do. If any one knows of any add-on devices, chips, etc. available in the US that will do what I need, please pass this information along.
