Water Spitting off of my tail pipe?
I noticed water spitting from my tail pipe. I first noticed it by feeling the exhaust from about 1 foot away. Drops of water was hitting my hand and felt cool as they evaporated. I also could see drops of water on the driveway. I'm Driving a 97 EJ6 Coupe, with a y7 motor. Is that a sign of something or is that normal? Please give me as much details on this. Thanks! BTW it happens to start spitting when I do Cold starts, or just idle.

Re: (mikeycivic)
If it's doing it just when you start it up and it's been cold, that's normal. Especially after driving for a while, then letting it sit and starting it after it got cold. Like the above poster stated, it's just condensation.

black soot coming out is usually when the engine runs rich when its cold until it reaches optimum temperature then it goes away. Also condensation like others have said. Pretty normal

Well a little more for you.
Water is a by-product of combustion and it is normal to see this.
You know your car is running good and clean when you see water out of the tailpipe.

That and a plume of smoke
It's normal in small quantities (such as that you've described to us) to have condensation coming out the tailpipe on a cold start, don't worry about it.
