Default water leaking in a 93 hatch

ok so heres the deal guys, i have a major leak somewere under my driver side carpeting.

i have taken apart the carpet and looked at the 3 "drain plugs" if you will, i covered them up with silicone hoping that was the cause but it still leakes water.

the carpet is always moist and when it rains it gets soaked.

mind you car has no ac, and it is clearly water thats leaking not coolant

Well first get those plugs unsealed, so they can do there job. Is your windshield rusted around it, because that will leak water in from there.

not sure how this applies to hondas seeing how mine has never had a problem, but what about the heater core, my roomies went out in his escort and it leaked all over his drivers floor board just the other day

The "drain plugs" you are referring to -- not sure where they are exactly -- but they should probably be left open so that the car can "breathe" ... ie., moisture/humidity/condensation can evaporate ... otherwise, this leads to rust. (Leading cause of rust along the rear wheel wells is poor moisture control between the body and the interior panels.)

You don't mention whether you have a sunroof? This is known to lead to carpet moisture, too, when the drain tube has problems. http://civic.indybbs.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2423106

but if i take the plugs out wouldnt that allow a constant amount of water flowing through the bottom of my car while i drive in the rain?
