Re: WATER IN 00 EK TRUNK
well its not coming from the top... i tried to find where it was coming from it looks like its coming from the bottom, because everywhere except for the trunk bed where the spare is is wet. but I don't know where. Im sure its not my windows because my seats and stuff aren't wet.. its really weird, and I was thinking of getting my whole trunk bondo'd would that help?

If you have a moonroof, check to make sure the drain tubes aren't the cause. Any water that leaks past the moonroof seal collects in a tray in the headliner then travels through these drain tubes. There are four of them. There's two in the front, one on each side of the car running through the a pillars to the front wheel wells. There's two in the back, one on each side of the car running through the c pillars into the trunk. Just peel back the rear portion of the front wheel wells to check out the two in the front. Just peel back the trunk liner on either side to check out the two in the back. The book says there's a valve at the end of each tube. It's not much of a valve, but it can clog up and cause water to leak into the trunk.

i've check the sunroof and it has no leaks but i assume it can be the trunk seal for mine.

Re: WATER IN 00 EK TRUNK
I had the same issue...it didn't pop up until I was doing body work on the rear quarter.
I tested all the seals...made sure the sunroof drains were good and everything...
Get a towel and soak up as much as you can...then blowdry out the trunk till it's completely dry including between the fender wells and very side of the trunk....take out your carpet sides if you haven't already.
Here's where mine ended up coming from...the seam around the fender lip...there is some seam sealer in there I guess I knocked lose when was hammering the panel back into shape.
After it's all dry and carpet is out...get a hose and spray all around from the bottom up on the rear fender well for a good while and ONLY in the rear fender well so you can single that out if that's it...obviously do this to both sides...it seems dumb but it ended up being enough to leave like a 1/4 puddle of water after a day of driving in the rain.
I fixed mine with silicone...I know it's not the best but it worked...also the vent in your drivers side trunk on the bottom...my foam gasket was out on that too so even though the flap was good I got water in there too.
I have an 00 EX as well and hopefully this helps you out a little.

Re: WATER IN 00 EK TRUNK
thanks for the heads up, but for sure its not my moonroof. i do not have one. I guess iI'll try the hose method and figure where it is coming from. does that mean i have to rip out my panels in the back?
