you must be 17...
EDIT: damn, I was close though...
What does "a lot" of stuff mean? $2000 in bolt ons will leave your car about as fast as it was stock. You'll be lucky to get into the mid 15's without boost/major internal/swap. If you dump your clutch at 7000 rpms like every other noob, expect +1 second of so to your 60'. The most important part of the race.

Re: (ekb16)
stock ex motors will usually run in the 17s. Your quarte mile times depend on so many diffrent factors its rediculous. Good luck and let us know what you run.

you should just not even waste your time doing mods to a d series motor. Save you money and buy a b or h series.

Re: wat does a 98 ek dx run stock in a quarter mile (TurboHatch93si)
I ran a high 10.7 in the local 1/8 mile track in my 98 dx coupe. I usually average 10.8s. The only thing done to it is a crush bent exhaust with an Apexi WS2 muffler. Haven't had the chance to run in it the 1/4 yet, nor do I know if I want to. I don't need to remind myself of how slow my car is

dont listen to anti-dseries toolbags. Just run your best time and post up, its true there are to many variables.

Re: wat does a 98 ek dx run stock in a quarter mile (motor_man)
My cousin has a 96 civic dx hb with 139000 mileage. Couple of months ago he went to the track w/ no mods, but tune up and he ran 16.4 which is a good time for a dx. His motor is a gifted motor plus he was smoking ls, accord and coupe civic ex all day. His car has alot of torque. He raced a gsr before, but loss by 2 car lenght. If you are a good driver, you can run anything at the track.

Um no you can't. A good driver will make some difference, but not the amount you're implying.

Re: wat does a 98 ek dx run stock in a quarter mile (ke98248)
X2
Im with ke98248 on this one. Im not hating, or doubting, but the facts are this, a 98 Civic DX in stock form from the factory has 106 hp and 103 lbs/ft of tq. Figure in the weight of about 2400-2700 lbs for the car, that may be able to run a high 16 in complete new condition, like right off the factory floor. However, being it is an older car, consider your HP and TQ losses from mileage and how well the motor was matinenced, id bet that your HP and TQ is considerably lower than that, somewhere in the 90 and up HP range. Also look at the DX transmission, not one made for acceleration, that doesnt help either. As for smoking LS's and SOCH V-tec's, I dont know about that. Could happen if your buddy was running against a bunch of guys that dont know how to drive, which I think was the factor there. All and all, Id say you might get lucky and run some low 17's, maybe some high 16's pending on how well you hook up. Again, not hating, just trying to show some facts. Good luck fellow Honda tuner!
