WANTED - weight of gutted SI hatchback (EH)
I tried the search, but couldnt find anything this specific. I know Si's weight a couple hundred pounds more than a vx or cx stock, but how much would they weigh with power steering, all interior panels and carpet, rear seats, door panels, a/c, and firewall mat removed. This also includes removing power windows and locks, (and the sunroof assembly possibly). The reason I ask is that I'm getting a deal on a '94 Si that is way too good to pass up, but the pig like weight of it is leaving me thinking of ways to put it on a diet. Thanks for the help in advance.

basically your best chance for a correct answer is to look up eg weight, then weigh everything you took out and subtract

Sadly for us si owners, the weight of a gutted si hb, is still more than the cx or vx .

All the chassis weight the same. Strip everything off of a si and it would weigh the same as a vx totally stripped. I mean stripped down to the chassis.

Isn't there supports around the sunroof? that would be the only thing I can think of that you might not be able to remove without problems. I wonder if anybody has converted their sunroof to a lighter non-motorized type?
