Default Want recommedation on front strut bar

I still havn't decided on which strut bar should I get for my EK civic.
I only want bars that mount and bolt into the 4 shock bolts on the shock tower and dosn't bolt onto the firewall area(carbing, etc..).

Which ones do you recommend to be the best and is functional and WORKS?
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

i have the neuspeed one and i think it's a very nice piece, esp. for the price. i like it because it has no pivot points and i noticed a difference after installing it. hope that helps.

Hmm for the EK, a bar that doesn't connect to the firewall and mounts on the 2 shock bolts, I would say:

1. Neuspeed
2. Spoon
3. Skunk2
4.
5.
....
10. one that is adjustable and has pivot points does not work

Try the Carbing or Benen 3 point bar. Other then that Spoon, Neuspeed, or Cusco.

You've limited yourself quite a bit here.

I don't think the Honda one attatches to the shock bolts.
I don't think the Neuspeed one attatches to the shock bolts either (attatches to the upper control arm mounts in some Civic's, I believe)
The Spoon one attatches to the Honda mount points (not the shock bolts).

So, do you mean JUST the shock bolts, or just not attatching to the firewall, because if you limit to just the shock bolts that's a great limitation to the available options.

Neuspeed, Spoon, and Skunk2 all attach to the shock bolts for the EK
Mugen bar does not

Neuspeed, Spoon, and Skunk2 all attach to the shock bolts for the EK
Mugen bar does not
I suspected I was wrong about one, but TWO? Eeek. Are you sure the Neuspeed one hooks to the shocks? The 92-95 Civics Neuspeed bar attaches to the control arm mounting points. I guess I've never seen the EK's though.

Sorry.

Anyway, I think he should clear this up. I think the bars that attach to the shock towers the HONDA way are better (stock, ITR, CTR, GSR, etc.). If he's willing to do the attachments to the tower like this, then we should know.

yup neuspeed bar hands are different for the EG and EK
anyways, neuspeed bar is good enough, no need to spend more
Yea I wanted a factory HONDA bar like the Si/GSR, but there are no holes in my EK to bolt it on

Don't forget that there are TWO different types on Neuspeed strut bars. One design bolts down on the Front upper control arm studs. The other kind is more like a fatctor ITR bar which bolts to the shock tower like on the ITR, GSR, and SI. I havn't seen a Neuspeed bar that connects to the upper shock pillow mount.

Carbing makes a Type 1 bar that attaches to the shock bolts only. No firewall mount point.

For the wondering minds about the EK neuspeed bar's mounting position here's a pick. Taken from CivicSedan's thread. As can be seen it mounts to the upper shock location. Looks nice and stiff in my opinion (no pivot points), but unfortunately the majority of the load in a corner is put on the upper wishbone and I don't think this mount can be accessed on and EK.

stock Civic Si or Neuspeed. Ive got a stock gsr one on my hatch and its great. got it for $20, beats paying $200 for some dc sports polished one with some holes in it.

LoL! Moot point... My understanding is that's the only cars the "other kind" will fit: 1999 - 2000 Civic Si, 1994 - 2001 GSR, and 1997 - 2001 ITR.
