Wanna clear up issues for me?
Whats up honda tech! Recently swapped a b18c1 into my 2000 civic coupe running it with a obd1 p72.
Ok here is what I have. Idles at around 3000k rpms. Once it's warmed up it surges from 800 to 3000. I know it sounds like a IAC so I pulled it off and cleaned it. Bypassed the FITV. My question is the IAC doesn't kick in until the engine is warm. The FITV is supposed to raise the rpms on cold start up to allow it to warm up faster. With it bypassed why would the idle still be up higher. (ALOT HIGHER) I have a IAC ordered and is on its way now. That should help my surging. What else could effect the high idle. I have no vacuum leaks. I have around 18 inches of vacuum at idle.
My timing is a bit retarded due to a broken knock sensor. I also have that on order and will be here soon. I know with my timing issues that it could cause issues here and there but shouldn't spike my rpms that high at idle.
Anybody have any thought? Thanks all.

Re: Wanna clear up issues for me?
No vacuum leaks! Im almost 100% that the IAC is going to fix my surging but my question is why is my idle so high BEFORE engine warms up? IAC doesn't do anything to the IAC before the engine warms up correct? If thats the case what other issues can cause the idle to be so high? I've tried adjusting the idle screw on the throttle body and no difference.
