As long as you set the pressure back to normal, your gas milage stays about the same. I was down 5-6 mpg before I thought to change the pressure back to normal. Any excess fuel that the higher volume pump gives is just returned back to the tank through the return hose.

this is from my own personal expirience...
stock=35mpg
stock with pump with no regulator=29mpg
JRSC with pump=32mpg
