w00t! - New EK sedan that I purchased - 1999 Honda Civic EX Sedan 5-speed
My new DD, downgrading from a 2004 Si - talk about a performance hit. I want the car to look as OEM as possible, hopefully over the course of the summer, I'll upgrade the following parts:
New headlights, OEM
New Grill - OEM Si
Fog Lights
New Front bumper cover (last owner left the bra on for 64K miles, so it's got a slight discoloration)
OEM Front and rear lips
Paint the sideskirt white
New Tint
Suspension upgrade - slight drop
Wheels - I'm on the lookout for a good 15" Honda set right now
100K maint - timing belt, water pump, replace and/or flush all fluids, new brake pads, all new belts
The car is 100% stock, outside of the radio I just installed. I'm content with the power of the engine, but the handling is atrocious at the limit. I'm dumping the tires and getting a new 15" set of steelies/rubber, Potenza RE960ASs, but I'm at a loss over the sheer amount of suspension options for the vehicle.
I autocrossed the Si, and I plan on doing the same with this one, but being a DD, I don't want kit that either lowers it more than 1.25/1.5 inches, or totally kills the handling in normal conditions/highway ride. What avenues should I pursue?
The car it replaces :

hmm, I had Tein Basics on my EG1 which I loved. Firm and adjustable! Nothing wrong with Koni + GC though

Yeah, I like adjustable dampening though They're good otherwise..
I think unless you plan to swap or go forced induction soon, the best instant gratification will be with new wheels and a drop imo.
