VX O2 SENSOR
I am in need for a o2 sensor for a 92 civic VX with the 1.5 d15z1 vtec-e motor. I have been quoted 373 and up for this sensor new. Is there any one with a cheaper 5 wire o2 sensor or does someone on here have a cheap used one??
Please let me know ASAP. I need this FAST

Re: VX O2 SENSOR (EG_GSR_HB)
That O2 sensor is a special kind that has a greater voltage output range than standard O2 sensors on the typical civic. That price is right.

Yeah the sensors are wideband so they cost a lot more.
Even sparkplugs.com which is usually cheap is selling them for around 440

I should've never thrown mine out...

You might be able to build a circuit that converts from the .1 volt - .9 volt range to the larger range. Search the web and see if someone else has done this.

Re: (dpkelly)
Search the all North American wrecking yards here:
http://www.car-part.com/
And lookup the exhaust manifold for your car. They probably still have the O2 sensor still in it. Good luck.

nope, the VX O2 is the NGK L1H1 wideband O2, which as five wires. it's not a simple step up conversion from the normal O2.
you can convert to a standard O2 but you will have to switch to a P28 ECU and chip it with the P07 fuel and ignition maps.

You need to right ECU is what you need. Running the P28 WILL continue to throw a code until you rewire the car for the 4 wire. You can't just put one in and expect it to work. Then when you are done, the EGR crap won't work either.

Re: (EG_GSR_HB)
i have my barely used VX o2 sensor in my garage if you want it. 80 dollars shipped and it's yours. still works perfectly. my gas mileage improved by a ton.
bought it brand new from the dealer and used for a couple of months before i went to b-series.

Dude, I have an HX which uses the same o2 sensor. Buy it from Canada. Mine was $250 from an actual Honda Dealership. The dealership is Hamburg Honda, the phone number is (905) 357-2471. Good luck!

I'm not going to teach you how to read a schematic and use a meter. Not trying to be mean, but if you REALLY wanted to rewire it, then you would pick up a manual and get to work.

That is kinda my point. Although your chipped P28 might also have the O2 disabled as well....
