VX motor into 1997 EK Coupe
I posted this in hybrid also to see if anyone there had any answers as well......
Hey all, I'm doing a swap from a VX into a 1997 Civic coupe, I'm only doing this cause I have the shell and motor sitting around. I know it is an older motor into a newer car but I just want to use this car as a daily beater while i'm working on my turbo gsr EG.
I used the rear mount from the vx motor and the tranny mount as well. I also used both original front lower mounts too (AC braket and the other one) but I cannot get the lower mounts to line up with the holes to bolt to the frame. I also do not know which mount to use for the timing belt area. I used to have a GSR motor in the coupe so I replaced the motor mount near the timing belt with the one for the GSR. This is not the right one for the VX motor. Does anyone think I need the original mount that went there with the sohc motor?
I know this is kinda confusing so if anything needs anything exlpained futher let me know and I will try to go into detail.
Cliff notes. VX motor into 1997 coupe. Do not know which motor mount to use near the timing belt. Front lower original VX motor mounts are not lining up with frame.
HELP!!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!

Re: VX motor into 1997 EK Coupe (mike1114)
update. I got the correct rear lower mount, it needed to be a 96-98 SOHC civic mount.
Now, my only other problem is the timing belt mount. I'm not sure what car this needs to be from. I think it needs to be 96-98 Civic on the frame side but not sure what piece to use on the block.
I also need to know how to include the 5th wire for the O2 sensor. Does it need to go from the ECU to the O2? If so, from what Pin on the ECU?
Thanks,
Mike

5 wires for the O2 according to the Helm manual....
D8 - LAF Input (from red wire at O2)
A6 - Heater control (from orn wire at O2)
D16 - LAF sensor ground (from blk wire at O2)
D14 - LAF sensor input (from white wire at O2)
heater ground to ground at thermostat housing (from yel wire at O2)
you can always say screw the P07 and run it with a P28 chipped to run a JDM D15. Or try to find a P08 ECU. You will not get the stellar fuel econimy as with the P07 but it would make the wiring easier for you.

I think the 94-95 is the only different timing mount. The offset 2 bolt mount is the one he needs and the 92-93 and 96-00 Civics had this but the 94-95's were different.

Re: (nsxmatt)
awesome, thanks for the help guys.
Now I have to find that part of the mount that goes to the motor and the bracket, hopefully they were there on the car I got the rear mount from!!!
I have an offset bracket for a 99-00 Si timing belt mount but that would only work if I took the studs off the part that goes to the motor and just put ONE bolt in. Is the offset bracket for the timing belt area mount, offset differently for the SOHC's? I can't remember that far back when I had a little D!!
