My old VX motor had that problem. I never did find out what it was though cause I swapped the motor. There, that's your solution. Swap the motor

Seriously though, I changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pcv valve, injectors, and fuel filter. Nothing helped the hesitation. Either a dirty TB or some other sensor I didn't check.

Maybe it has something to do with the lean burn system on the VX models that causes them to act up with age. Clogged close coupled cat? Flakey 5-wire 02's? Carbon build-up in the CC's?

i've got the same problem. vtec transition happens around approx 2500 rpm. mine seems to only do it in the 2-3k rpm range. i think it is linked to the lean burn issue. thinking the ecu is stumbling into vtec transition.

i've already got a sohc vtec swap sitting in the garage. once i get a header/exhaust system, i think i'm gonna swap them on for a couple of weeks and see if the stumble stops. that will eliminate the cat issue for sure.

The EGR setup is faulty with age, that is a common problem with those types of symtoms. I have a 92 VX and had the same trouble about 3 years ago. Remedy: 99 B18C1 swap, no hesitation now

Could be the lack of horse power.. or lack of torque.. or all around shittyness of that nasty vx engine.. i was glad to get that **** out of my baby.. .. My tranny sounded like metal on metal.. and thats because it was..

yeah, i'm gonna try a p28 and see how it works. I also have the worst tranny grind ever. Both of my VX's did this bullshit grind and i'm never buyin a stock vx ever again unless it's to do one big *** burnout and blow the engine.

mine has one.... that's wierd. Would it pass emissions if it didn't have one? or any car for that matter?

thats the thing, a couple of months ago, i got a slip from the gov. saying i need to take an emissions test, but since i'm away at school, the car aint at use, so i sent that little post card saying i need to delay the testing...

but you have a 95 VX, i have a 92..maybe that could be the difference...any 92 vx owners out there??

no..i kinda like the VX for some reason...its like the blacksheep of the civic models of that generation....i like how it has the right options for my tastes...
-no sunroof, alloys, front lip, no power steering, no rear wiper...whatelse...i dont know, thats about it...oh, no side moldings..hehe...and its light too..i'd rather have it than any other model..

I have a 92 and the cat is a close coupled cat. Which means it's right up next to the head so it can warm up quickly to help lower emissions. Unless you have a aftermarket header, chances are it's still there.
